Earn Your CBBP™ Accreditation
The new way to recognize professionals in bank facilities and construction
The CBBP™: Certified Bank Buildings Professional, is a designation to recognize your experience, expertise, and accomplishment as a skilled steward of buildings in the banking industry.
We invite you to join us as we come together in creating a new way to recognize the accomplishments of professionals in bank facilities and construction.
You qualify to earn the CBBP if you are employed by a bank, and you manage branch facilities or construction. You may also earn the CBBP if you’re assigned full-time to fulfilling similar functions for a third-party management company contracted to a bank (such as a CBRE, C&W, JLL). Trade service contractors and suppliers are not eligible at this time, though that may change in the future.
You’ll earn the CBBP with credits for a combination of sources of expertise and experience:
• Credit hours by attending live instruction,
• Completion of online education modules,
• Attendance at industry events, including some exclusive to The Bank Facilities Forum,
• Documentation of projects you’ve completed for your employer
• Related certifications you hold, such as LEED-AP, PMP, and others,
• Years worked in the industry.
Learning from other sources will also be recognized.
We expect that you can complete the process in as little as 18 months. Curriculum and eligibility will be guided by a committee of your peers, and we encourage you to become involved.
The CBBP designation is being offered by the new American Bank Buildings Institute, a group designed to help our community share best practices and ideas to help one another improve at the important work you do. In addition, ABBI (and we hope you’ll come to call ‘her’ by her name) is a resource for job and hiring exchange, community discussion, and a library of sample documents we can all share.
We invite you to begin your CBBP certification journey by attending the next regular meeting of ABBI, being held at The Bank Facilities Forum, September 18-20, 2023 in Charlotte, NC, at the Ballantyne Resort Hotel.
